Rubber Ducks Commence Naval Conquest in World of Warships
Get ready to “duck and cover” because Trouble in the Hot Tub has returned to the game, Pan-American cruisers are arriving in Early Access, and a celebratory campaign to mark two years in the Epic Games Store is getting underway in Update 12.2!
Wargaming, publisher and developer of leading naval MMO World of Warships, is bringing the bubbles in its latest update. In celebration of April Fools’ Day, the fun “Trouble in the Hot Tub” mode is returning to the game with a full raft of rubber ducks in tow. Nine Pan-American cruisers are also set to arrive in the harbours of Early Access, and a special campaign is coming that will give players the opportunity earn up to $20 in celebration of 2 years of World of Warships in the Epic Games Store.
Hot Tub battles are all they’re quacked up to be…
Trouble in the Hot Tub is here, and it has brought six battle-ready rubber ducks to choose from. This includes two cruiser ducks, two destroyer ducks, and two battleship ducks; however, these rubber ducks aren’t just your run-of-the-mill bath-time buddies—they are armed and bubbly! In addition to splashy mines that explode upon contact with enemy ducks, each class has a different stylized weapon to really heat things up: high-explosive and armour-piercing droplets, plus fizzy torpedoes. At the helms of these duck ships are special duck Commanders, ready to take on opposing rafts in 7v7 Domination battles and come out on top in Trouble in the Hot Tub.
As part of the fun, World of Warships has also partnered with Placid Plastic Duck Simulator to create a collaborative DLC bundle that will be available on Steam from March 23 through April 14.
Nine new Pan-American cruisers in Early Access
Spanning Tier II–X, nine Pan-American cruisers are arriving in Early Access on March 31. The ships of this faction’s first cruiser Tech Tree come armed with AP shells that have improved ricochet angles, and their Combat Instructions—accessible from Tier VI upward—speed up the cooldown time of consumables. Speaking of consumables, players can expect Repair Party from Tier VI and Surveillance Radar from Tier VIII. While this new range of ships has relatively weak armour, players can take advantage of their good concealment to conduct stealthy attacks from a distance. Medium to long-range combat is optimal for the new arrivals.
Almost all these ships are available from random and sequential bundles, but Tier VIII cruiser Ignacio Allende is the final reward for players who obtain and progress through the Premium Battle Pass. New permanent camouflages are also available for Tier VIII Ignacio Allende and Tier IX Santander—Mayan Mystery and Muisca Gold, respectively.
For all players on Steam, free DLC featuring Tier II Premium cruiser Almirante Abreu is also up for grabs until April 13!
An Epic anniversary on the high seas
World of Warships is marking 2 years in the Epic Games Store. To celebrate the occasion, starting on March 23, new Epic Games Store players can go on an unprecedented achievement hunt to receive up to $20 in their PayPal accounts! It involves earning three different achievements across the four-week event. Warships will also be celebrating the occasion with some hefty DLC discounts; a giveaway for the Starter Pack: Ishizuchi DLC; and a combat mission marathon with a special Epic camouflage, patch, and background waiting at the end for all players on this platform.
