GPotato.eu players have donated 22,000 for the Irish Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal
The portal gPotato.eu, has announced that the European players of Rappelz, Flyff, Castle of Heroes and Terra Militaris have raised over 20,000 for the Irish Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal.These funds have been raised through the sale of special in-game items created specifically for this event, allowing players to show their solidarity with those affected by the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami.
The fundraiser provided gPotato.eu players with the opportunity to buy a special donation item between 25th March and 30th April, with 100% of the purchase price going directly to charity. After running for five weeks, players of Rappelz, Flyff, Castle of Heroes and Terra Militaris opened their hearts and raised a combined total of 22,151.
This money was donated to the Irish Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal on Tuesday, May 31st, 2011 and will be relayed to its Japanese counterpart to help assist those impacted by one of Japans worst natural disasters. The European fundraiser was part of a global GALA Group initiative which raised close to 50,000 worldwide.
