GAMEPLAY
The concept of the game follows a “Craft. Ride. Destroy” mantra, players are tasked with acquiring a variety of vehicle components, from the mundane such as frames and structural assets, to hardware, gadgets and weaponry. All of these go towards assembling a vehicle to be used in 8 vs 8 team PVP matches, which in turn are destroyed in battle as enemies rattle of bullets taking out individual components and causing physical damage to rival vehicles. As players level up they will gain access to a variety of other components to make even bigger, better and more deadly vehicles.
CRAFT
There are various means that players can get access to new components that, when acquired, are stored in the players Storage. Players are able to fight in matches against other players or AI and complete quests that offer the chance of specific loot drop items as rewards, or players can buy new items on the player Marketplace and trade with other players. Primarily players will stock up their Storage with items they have crafted themselves, using the Camp system where each account has their own Camp with different buildings that can be upgraded to give account wide benefits, players can upgrade their Workshop to hire Technicians who bring the knowledge to create a variety of unique items from the Scrap currency players earn in battles.
In the Garage area players can make near anything they can imagine with the hundreds of different component parts, 18 wheeler trucks that house rocket launchers or fast three wheeler buggies with mounted spikes for both cosmetic and melee damage value. Components can be attached to each other in various ways so the components themselves plus the multitude of combinations they can be put together means that every vehicle is unique. Each vehicle has a TEC requirement where every component has a TEC value and the combined total of all the vehicles parts cannot go over a certain TEC threshold, vehicles are also limited to how many weapons or hardware they can have as it drains up Energy points from the battery.
DRIVE
Once a vehicle has been made players get the chance to test them out in their Camp, driving them around an instanced area to check the general manoeuvrability, how well it takes different terrain and ramp gradients. Finally players get the opportunity to try out their weapons against their own vehicle, a mirror image replica sits stationary and players can fire at it to locate vulnerable spots.
DESTROY
Each of the components that are attached to a vehicle have a chance of being blown off in battle, facing off against an enemy team of eight players means the bullets are quickly flying as both teams try to capture the enemy teams base or annihilate the enemy team players. Vehicles have a little more strength based on their Durability, many frame/structure based components adding to the vehicle’s Durability, which makes it harder to destroy but also makes it slower to move.
In combat players can actively target components to try and disable an enemy vehicle, destroying wheels to leave the vehicle stranded and immobile, or destroying weapons to make the enemy ineffective. Players can attempt to flip each other’s vehicles, a vehicle on its roof being particularly vulnerable but can be righted again with a special Car Jack component or by an allied player.
The game hosts a variety of different game maps that involve different landscapes in the post-apocalyptic theme; abandoned villages, desert outposts, fallen industrial complexes and more. Most maps offer verticality with different levels as well as a number of terrain hazards.
