Camelot Unchained launches its Kickstarter campaign
City State Entertainment just launched the Kickstarter campaign for its upcoming RvR-focused MMORPG Camelot Unchained, considered by many the spiritual successor of one of the most appriciated MMORPGs ever, Dark Age of Camelot. The company, lead by Mark Jacobs, one of DAOC's dads, wants to create a game focused on Tri-Realm RvR, housing and a true player-owned economy built upon a rich crafting system.
The kickstarter campaign is aiming to a goal of $2 million, with Mark Jacobs adding 2 million in the project founds and other investors 1 million each. Different options will be available to players and will grant them exclusive in-game rewards, perks and benefits.
"Camelot Unchained isn't a game with something for everyone," said Mark Jacobs. "Instead, we're aiming it at a niche audience of dedicated RvR-focused MMORPG players. We've tried very hard to incorporate our community's ideas and suggestions into our pledge rewards, even going as far as show the preliminary tiers in order to get feedback before the start of our Kickstarter."
